Born in Boston in 1948, the photographer, Edward Murray, studied at Boston University and received his Masters of Community Development from Cambridge-Goddard in 1973. Mr. Murray lived in Berlin in 1971 and studied at the Frei University where, ironically, one of his courses was "Political Posters". From a professional background in community planning and social policy research, his experiences have ranged from being creator and executive producer of the television series "Going Sailing" to commercial fisherman and professional sailor along with various encounters with the restaurant business. Currently a resident of Cambridge, Massachusetts, he has also lived on Nantucket Island and the Virgin Islands. His
interest in photography dates from childhood and, while his marine
photography has been published, it seems to have been more a product of
circumstance. His photography has been defined by projects that are of
interest to him, including a series from 11973 which documented the urban
planning blunder of a section of Berlin, Mirkisches Viertel. His Berlin
Wall Art collection has been highly acclaimed when presented in galleries
and lectures. He is currently involved in developing a project
combining photography with the Web, and pursuing a means to broaden the
audience for the Berlin Wall Art collection. Questions? Comments? Please contact the webmaster.
